A beautifully preserved example of the classic 34mm Rolex Oyster Perpetual 1003, dating to 1969, presented on its original Oyster bracelet with correct 257 end links.

This reference represents one of the purest executions of the Oyster Perpetual concept: clean symmetry, no date, chronometer-rated movement, and the distinctive engine-turned bezel that sets the ref. 1003 apart from the smooth-bezel ref. 1002 and fluted-bezel ref. 1007.

The silver sunburst dial, applied baton markers, and minimalist handset give this watch the understated tool-watch elegance that made the Oyster Perpetual a daily companion for professionals throughout the 1960s.

Why the 1003 is Special

The ref. 1003 was the only Oyster Perpetual of this era to feature the engine-turned bezel, a design that adds texture and character without the formality of a fluted bezel. It sits perfectly between sport and dress — a true everyday vintage Rolex

ref. 1003 was introduced in the early 1960s (circa 1960–1962) and remained in production into the early 1970s, powered predominantly by the Calibre 1560 and later the Calibre 1570.
